NBA rookies strike a pose

GREENBURGH - The future of the NBA descended on Greenburgh yesterday as more than 30 members of the 2009 draft class spent the day at the MSG training facility. They were there for a day-long photography session for their new NBA trading cards.

“It’s been a great time,” Hawks rookie Jeff Teague said. “Everybody’s here having fun. Hopefully we’ll keep the tradition going next year and continue to have fun.”

 

The double basketball court at the Knicks’ practice facility was transformed into a veritable obstacle course of stations. (more…)

Kobe in Asia: Shanghai

Master technicians just don’t leave any room for things like getting tired.

After all: the next generation was waiting to ball.

So Kobe hand-picked three lucky players from the capacity crowd at Shanghai Luwan Stadium and delighted everyone involved with an on-court lesson plan centered around his favorite attack moves. (more…)

Kobe in Asia: Chengdu

All good things must come to an end - but that doesn’t mean they can’t end in style.

Or an all-day celebration of Kobe’s weeklong Asia tour.

First up: a visit to the Chengdu Nike Jinkai store grand opening.

There Kobe met with a handful of players from the Chegndu All Day Training Activation U24 championship team. He shared the Nike Zoom Kobe IV Beijing and the Nike Zoom Kobe IV Finals that debuted the previous day in Shanghai with them - and 17 of their closest journalist friends. (more…)
